Hey Cornerstone Family!
Thank you for your interest in the Cornerstone Prayer Ministry. I believe that this ministry has a significant impact on all of the ministry areas within Cornerstone Baptist Church and our partnerships around the globe.
The idea for this ministry initially came from a group that was on a mission trip. When they saw the very difficult task that the mission partner had in reaching that area with the Gospel their response was, “We must pray daily for our missions partners.” Coincidentally (that’s a very theological term for God’s Providence), I was teaching on prayer at that time. We have learned that prayer is an essential part of our personal spiritual life as it deepens our dependence on God, deepens our faith in God, and deepens our relationship with God. Prayer is also an essential part of our corporate spiritual life as we endeavor to be obedient to carry the message of the Gospel to our church family, our community, our nation, and the world. God uses Kingdom methods to accomplish Kingdom purposes.
The goals of the Cornerstone Prayer Ministry are:
- To engage our church in daily prayer.
- To be intentional about praying for God’s Kingdom work.
- To pray for our church’s ministries.
- To pray for our church’s mission partnerships.
- To pray for our church’s mission opportunities.
I would like to invite you to be part of the Cornerstone Prayer Ministry. If you accept below, each Monday morning you will receive an email that identifies specific prayer requests for each day of the week. Some will be ministry oriented – our children’s ministry, our youth ministry, our worship ministry, our community outreach, etc. The other will be missions oriented – one of our church plants, KidzKonnect4Jesus, OM Ships and OM Europe, AWANA, Cuba partnership or an active mission trip. We will also be reporting praises as we see God accomplish His purposes through us. Personal, family related prayer requests will remain the focus of Journey Groups.
