We are excited to announce that in this year’s MissionFest we will partner with the House of Hope in revitalizing “The Woods at Black Creek” property. This property used to be where the “Choices School” was located to help wayward teens get back on the right track. Now, this property will be used to help men to be set free from their addictions to drugs and alcohol. The vision the Lord has given them for this property is amazing, and we are excited to join in this ministry effort!

Front Entrance Landscaping
Objective: To transform and beautify the entrance to the facility so that visitors and residents will have a great first impression of a beautiful place to visit and receive healing
Project Type: Family Friendly – Landscaping
Tasks: Clearing out, weeding, removing bushes and stumps, installing new plants & flowers, laying sod
Man Hours Needed: We need 10-15 people for each 4-hour shift
Tools Needed: Shovels, Pointed and Flat Rakes, Hard & Leaf Brooms, Axes, Picks, Heavy Digging Bars, Wheelbarrows, Hand Shovels, Rakes, Weeding Tools, Small Pruners, and Trash Cans for debris.
Main Cabin Front Porch Repair
Objective: To repair the front porch of the main cabin so that people can walk into the cabin without fear of falling through the floor and to replace the screen around the porch
Project Type: From skilled renovation to minor renovation
Tasks: Carpentry, and screen replacement
Man Hours Needed: We need 10-15 people for each 4-hour shift
Tools Needed: Hammers, Ladders, Pliers, Circular Saw, Staple Gun, Staples, Screw Gun, Pressure Washer, Garden Hose, Table Saw
Chicken Coop Repair
Objective: To repair the chicken coop for chickens that will produce eggs for the facility
Project Type: From skilled renovation to minor renovation
Tasks: Replace old floor and siding.
Man Hours Needed: We need 10-15 people for each 4-hour shift
Tools Needed: Hammers, Ladders, Pliers, Circular Saw, Screw Gun, Pressure Washer, Garden Hose, Table Saw
Picnic Table Painting
Objective: To make the tables under the pavilion and around the facility look like new
Project Type: Family Friendly – Painting and scraping
Tasks: Scraping the old paint off of the tables and providing a fresh coat of paint
Man Hours Needed: We need 10-15 people for each 4-hour shift
Tools Needed: Paint Brushes, Rollers, Scrapers, Rags
Handicap Ramp Demo
Objective: To remove two handicap ramps from two cabins on the property
Project Type: Skilled and unskilled people who enjoy demolishing things
Tasks: Demolish and remove two handicap ramps; paint cabins after demo is complete
Man Hours Needed: We need 10-15 people for each 4-hour shift
Tools Needed: Pry Bars, Hammers, Sawzall, Screw Guns, Shovels, Wheelbarrow
Koi Pond Cleaning
Objective: To transform and beautify the existing Koi Pond so that visitors and residents will have a beautiful place to sit, reflect, and enjoy the beauty of the pond
Project Type: Family Friendly – Landscaping
Tasks: Cleaning out debris and landscaping around the pond.
Man Hours Needed: We need 10-15 people for each 4-hour shift.
Tools Needed: Shovels, Rakes, Wheelbarrows, Small Pruners, and Trash Cans for debris.
Nature Trail and Path Clearing
Objective: To transform and beautify the existing trails so that visitors and residents will be able to go on walks and travel from one location to another on foot easily
Project Type: Family Friendly – Landscaping
Tasks: Clearing out leaves and fallen branches from the already existing paths
Man Hours Needed: We need 60+ people for each 4-hour shift
Tools Needed: Gloves, Shovels, Rakes, Leaf Brooms, Cordless Leaf Blowers, Hoes, and Axes
Painting Inside of Cafeteria
Objective: To put on a fresh coat of paint in the cafeteria and make it look like new
Project Type: Family Friendly – Painting
Tasks: Providing a fresh coat of paint
Man Hours Needed: We need 10-15 people for each 4-hour shift
Tools Needed: Paint brushes, rollers, scrapers, rags
Painting Inside and Outside of Cabins
Objective: To put on a fresh coat of paint in the cabins to make them look like new
Project Type: Family Friendly – Painting
Tasks: Providing a fresh coat of paint
Man Hours Needed: We need 20-30 people for each 4-hour shift
Tools Needed: Paint brushes, rollers, scrapers, rags
